The journey, day by day
- Day 1
Arrive Kilimanjaro
Met at the aircraft steps, then thirty minutes to a coffee-farm lodge outside Arusha. Sleep off the flight properly — the safari starts rested.

Tarangire
Two hours west and you are among the elephant herds beneath the baobabs. Afternoon game drive; sundowner over the river valley.

Into the highlands
Morning in Tarangire, then up the Rift wall to the Ngorongoro rim through Mto wa Mbu’s markets. Fires lit at the lodge — the rim is cold and lovely.

Crater at dawn, Serengeti by dusk
Through the gate at 6:00 for three golden hours on the crater floor — lions, tusked elephants, a real chance of black rhino. Out by noon, across the plains into the Serengeti.

With the herds
Two full days in the migration’s current region — calving in the south, the western corridor, or the northern crossings, depending on your month. Picnic breakfasts out; crossings waited for with patience.
Same camp — no wasted packing days

Fly to Zanzibar
Light aircraft from the airstrip to the island — under two hours from plains to sea. Met by our island team; a restored merchant house in Stone Town, rooftop dinner as the call to prayer meets the sunset.

Dawn lanes, spice farm, the coast
Stone Town before the heat, a working spice farm with lunch from what you picked, then north to the beach.
Beach lodge, north or east coast
- Day 9
The exhale
Mnemba Atoll snorkeling, a private sunset dhow with dinner aboard, or the honorable nothing on the sand.

Home, rested
Transfer timed to your flight, with a packed breakfast if it is early.
